Hi, I’m Josh.

I’m a therapist for adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, relationships, and the parts of life that don’t go according to plan. My style is warm, collaborative, and direct. Before becoming a therapist, I spent years in film and commercial work, where I learned to listen closely for the story underneath the one people first tell.

My Approach

My approach is warm, curious, collaborative, and direct. I work with people to better understand the patterns, relationships, stories, and survival strategies that have shaped their lives and to begin making room for something different.

I earned my MSW from Columbia University and trained at Mount Sinai’s Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic, where I provided individual therapy to adults with a wide range of concerns and co-facilitated a process group for people living with serious mental illness. I also trained at Brooklyn Defender Services, where I worked with people navigating the criminal legal system and wrote advocacy narratives that centered their humanity, context, and strengths.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent a decade producing films, podcasts, commercials, and documentary media. Being a filmmaker taught me how to listen closely, earn trust, and pay attention to the story beneath the story.

That background still shapes my work as a therapist. I’m interested in what people say, what they don’t say yet, and what becomes possible when they feel understood enough to tell the truth.
